Time to use your Imaginology

It’s time to use your “Imaginology and go Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead” at the O.C. Fair & Event Center. Imaginolgy is one of our girls favorite annual STEAM events. Through hands-on workshops and exhibits, this event creates a stimulating world perfect for kids of all ages.

Kids can explore and discover their abilities in S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) and agricultural fields and more.

The farm is filled with gardening activities including radish seed planting, digging and identifying vegetable roots and examining a variety of plants through touch and smell at the Garden Touch Table.

There’s so much to do at this event. In addition to the hands-on learning there’s blacksmithing presentation and a cow-milking display where guests learn the process of how milk travels from the cow to the store. Attendees can also pet a chick or visit The Great Egg-Scape exhibit and watch chicks hatching.

A Groovy Christmas Gift

**This post was sponsored by Groovey Lab in a Box.Opinions are completely my ownThe links in this blog post are affiliate links. If you make a purchase after clicking on these links, I will receive a small commission from Groovy Lab in a Box.

My 8-year-old is not a difficult child but if I take her into a toy store, there’s not much that’s grabs her attention. It becomes difficult when someone calls and asks “what can we get her for Christmas or what is she into?” My answer usually sounds like this….bugs, nature, how things work, science, technology, building things, geography and reading – and that is when I hear the silence on the other end of the phone. So, no – you can’t go into the local department store and get her a gift she’ll love and my little one is quickly following in her footsteps.

One of the ads I feature on my blog is from Groovy Lab in a Box, this is the type of Christmas gift any kid would love.

groovey lab in a box3

Groovy Lab in a Box is a monthly subscription STEM in a box gift. Each month your little STEMists receive a brand new box filled with STEM related learning opportunities.

The box comes complete with everything you’ll need to complete the activity. If you need a paper clip –  it’s in the box,  scissors – it’s in box, popsicle stick – it’s in the box – even any necessary tools are included. Once you open the box, your ready to get going on your experiment. They take it a step further by offering a website that allows them to take that months activity to the next level.

Groovey Lab in a box

They are currently offering “Groovy Holiday Bundles” and you can get your first box delivered to you in time just in time for Christmas. They offer non-recurring prepaid plans in 3-, 6- and 12-month packages that are billed at the time of order. The plans do not renew (but you ‘ll probably want to continue). Right now, each plan is bundled with a unique single box at 20% off!

I think this is an awesome choice for a Christmas gift. Giving your little STEMist a monthly box filled with the fun of learning science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Both Popular Mechanics and Mothering Magazine have included Groovy Lab in a Box in their 2014 holiday gift guides!
