Enjoy a fun-filled, enchanting hour of food related stories, songs, games, and activities designed to help kids build strong language and literacy skills, and lifelong healthy eating habits.

Creativity and imagination are stimulated through stories about the wonders of life in the garden. Gently used book donations to the Farm + Food Lab’s little free library are welcomed.

Structured 30 minute interactive presentation followed by craft activities.
All ages are welcome to attend.

Garden Workshop

The Great Park is hosting a Garden Workshops: Sensational Succulents for adults on Saturday, August 8, 2015

Southern California gardens can be a challenge with hot summers, dry winters and water usage laws.  Succulents can be one of the easiest and most rewarding plants, indoors and outdoors.  University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will provide the information you need to propagate and maintain succulents with ease.

Learn everything you need to know about sustainable home gardening practices. Workshops are conducted at the Great Park Farm + Food Lab and are developed in cooperation with University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners of Orange County.

Movies on the Lawn

Movies on the Lawn

Join the OC Great Park for a classic film or family blockbuster on the outdoor big screen. Bring low-back chairs, blankets and a picnic or purchase items from food trucks or the snack bar. Movies are shown weather permitting and admission is FREE.

Movie on the Lawn series will feature Flashback Friday films and Blockbuster Saturday movies.

Children’s Garden Workshop

OCGreat Park_garden4KidsThe third Sunday of every month is the Great Park’s FREE Children’s Garden Workshop Series. The monthly workshop is designed to highlight the connection between nature and the core education disciplines of science, technology, engineering, arts, music, and math.

A garden is a perfect backdrop for exploring the ways in which the natural world impacts every aspect of our daily lives.  This new set of fun and engaging STEAMM inspired topics are sure to delight and inspire young and old alike, so please join us.

  • Where: OC Great Park Farm + Food Lab | Map & Directions 
  • When: Sunday, May 17, 2105
  • Time: Workshops are offered every half hour from 11:00am – 1:00pm
  • Cost: Free*

 The workshop is 20 minutes of a sit down interactive presentation followed by a craft and planting activity, all ages welcome.

*Gently used book donations to the little free library are encouraged.
Ages 3-9

This program is produced  and presented by the City of Irvine’s Community Services Urban Agricultural Programs Division, and is supported by volunteers from the University of California’s Cooperative Extension Master Gardener program and Irvine Youth Action Team.

Seasoned Chef Workshop

ocgreatpark-logoThe Seasoned Chef Series is bringing some of the best chefs in Orange County to present local seasonal gourmet dishes, techniques and preservation methods. Eating seasonal and local foods is nutritionally rich and environmentally friendly. Ages 16+.

Chef Sharon Murphy of One Fine Fig will be pulling winter vegetables, citrus, greens and herbs from the garden to prepare an early spring delight.
