OC Restaurant Week & Girl Scout Cookies

OC Restaurant week is just about here but even better then trying all the scrumptious food, how about trying some of Orange County top chef’s desert creations prepared with Girl Scout Cookies?  Yes, Girl Scouts Orange County has once again partnered with OC Restaurant Week to feature chef-created Girl Scout Cookie inspired desserts! YUM!!!

Select restaurants will be including unique treats on their menus during OC Restaurant Week, March 1-8. Be sure to visit these restaurants for a sweet Girl Scout Cookie inspired treat!

Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour Restaurants – Mission Viejo, Brea and Buena Park will feature: The OC Girl Scout Lemonade Cookie Cream Soda- Inspired by the Girl Scout’s Lemonades Cookie this cream soda includes lemon sorbet, Sprite® and cream. Topped with freshly made lemon whipped cream and a Girl Scout Lemonades cookie

Pascal – San Juan Capistrano will feature: Thin Apple Tart – served with warm caramel sauce 

Paul Martin’s American Grill – Irvine will feature: Homemade Ice Cream – your choice of 3 daily flavors served with shortbread cookies

Slapfish – Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach will feature: Caramel deLite Chipwiches with Thin Mint Studded Ice Cream

Scouting for Food

Saturday, November 8, 2014 is Scouting for Food Day in Orange County. Scouting for Food is a joint collaboration to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank, by the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts Orange County.The program is designed to help alleviate the problem of hunger in Orange County.

Thousands of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and their volunteer leaders in Orange County will  approach homes requesting food donations. in addition there will be collection sites set-up county wide for you to drop off your food and personal care items donations. ScoutingforFood_FoodItemFlyer_2014_1-page-001

Collection sites will be open on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. All items donated help a families in need within our community. Below is list of collections sites.

Orange County Museum of Art – Free Second Sundays

Join in the fun at the Orange County County Museum of Art at the “Free Second Sunday” event  for the Fall Season Kick -off on Sunday, September 12, 2014, from 11:00AM – 4:00PM.

Visit the new exhibition The Avant-Garde Collection, arts & crafts activities and join in on the the frenzy with special dance performances by Girl Scouts Orange County. Food trucks will be on site.

National Night Out

On August 5th join National Association of Town Watch (NATW) a non-profit organization in celebrating the 31st annual National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime”. NATW’s National Night Out program culminates annually, on the first Tuesday of August (In Texas, the first Tuesday of October).

National Night Out now involves over 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities from all fifty states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.

The traditional “lights on” campaign and symbolic front porch vigils turned into a celebration across America with various events and activities including, but not limited to, block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from emergency personnel, rallies and marches, exhibits, youth events, safety demonstrations and seminars, in effort to heighten awareness and enhance community relations.

In Orange, CA, A Night Out Against Crime will take place from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at TARGET in City of Orange, 2191 N. Tustin Street.

 

In Tustin, CA, National Night Out will take place at the District at Tustin Legacy from 5:00 – 8:00 pm in front of Target. Community Resources will include: Tustin Family & Youth Center, Tustin Police Foundation, U.S. Army: 304th Sustainment Brigade, Lions Heart Tustin Teen Group, Divas Baton Twirlers and Girl Scouts Orange County.

Girl Scouts wear your vest or sash, come to our Girl Scout Booth and get a prize!
