January’s schedule for the campfire program at Casper’s Wilderness park is set for the following dates: Saturday, January 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31, 2015.

The campfire may include a slide presentation, wilderness safety, games and activities for children, animal adaptations, skins and skulls, a live animal demonstration and a chance to visit the Nature Center. Topics may vary weekly.

  • The event is FREE, parking is $5.00

Join us and discover our wild San Diego, Halloween edition, at the Living Coast Discovery Center’s first ever ’Owl-o-Ween.’ You definitely don’t want to miss this!

Fall Faire & Pumpkin Patch at One of my Favorite Places.

The 40th Annual Fall Faire & Pumpkin Patch will take place October 19, 2014 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at one of my favorite places: Environmental Nature Center at 1601 E. 16th Street, Newport Beach, CA 92663

What is the Fall Faire & Pumpkin Patch? Pumpkins, food, native plant sales, children’s games, crafts & face painting, live entertainment, story time, petting zoo & animal demonstrations.

Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes will be available for sale. Proceeds benefit the environmental education programs.

Local restaurants WingstopPIE-NOT,A Market, Which Wich, Blue Water Grill,Haute Cakes, Kean Coffee (love their coffee), Sensitive Sweets, Shirley’s Bagels, Whole Foods, thePizza Bakery, Fork in the Road & Z Pizza  will have food and drinks available to purchase.

If your looking for native plants, they’ll have a selection of native plants for sale  to attract more butterflies or birds to your yard, save water, reduce pesticide use, or showcase color throughout the year.

For the children there will be a variety of fun crafts*, face painting, henna tattoos, a petting zoo and the Orange County Bird of Prey Center will be on hand with their live hawks and owls. OC Reptile Rescue will bring a variety of scaly things, and Wolf Totem Ambassadors will have their wolves on site for you to meet.

As for the entertainment, enjoy the music of Keith Serpa and be sure to check out the Fire Circle Stage to hear a story from Community Roots Academy, theYouth Singers of Orange County  and the Eco-Fashion show by Saddleback College.

Join us Saturday Night at the amphitheater for this special program; Bats of Orange County, presented by Ranger Brad Barker, set to the glow of fire light. This event is open to the public. No access for day use after sunset.

  • Ages: All Ages Welcome
  • Fee: Free
  • 7:00 pm. – 8:30 pm.
