ProjectRefinedLife.com

From 11:30 am to closing they are offering Cheeseburgers and fries for just $2.99! Not only can you get a great meal but you can also give back to your community, $1 from each purchase will go to support the Ruby Dooby Foundation  which benefits children’s charities.

RubysNewport

The Ruby Dooby Foundation was created as a way of honoring Ruby’s dedication to children. Ruby Cavanaugh passed in December, this wonderful foundation will live on and help to support the new Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, dedicated to small babies in need of complex surgery or other advanced care. The Ruby Dooby Foundation also supports research efforts to combat Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome (CCHS), a rare but tragic disease that is in need of more funding for better treatments.

RubyscalamariThe original Ruby’s Diner opened in 1982 on Balboa Pier, There are now 35 Ruby’s with more opening soon. My family and I know really enjoy going to Ruby’s diner and love their shakes. In addition to their great burgers and shakes – I recommend their veggie burgers, Ahi Tuna Burgers and Fried Calamari, just to name a few. We can always count on Ruby’s a for a good meal (and dessert) in a family friendly environment.

VBS

VBS

I know it’s late tonight but are you looking for something for the kids to do tomorrow? Why not send them to VBS for a couple of days. Calvary Church in Santa Ana offers FREE Vacation Bible School for kids through Friday, July 29, 2016 and they would love it if you brought your kids. This years theme is “The Cave”.  (I love the theme this year).

They are always happy to accept kids, even if it’s just for a day! These are some of the things I LOVE about this VBS:

  • It’s FREE

  • They never turn a child away

  • They help local children without transportation get to and from VBS

  • They are very organized and loving with the children

  • They teach children about giving back

vbs4

Every morning starts out by meeting in the main church, there’s a group of people who get the kids ready for their high energy day, with by games,, skits, singing, and praying together then the kids head to their classes where they have a bible based curriculum and then circulate in the campus and do crafts, play games, have a snack and then meet back up in the main church and end their day by another entertaining skit, singing and praying together. It feels like a rock concert in there and the kids love it!

vbs5

Children are encouraged to give back by contributing through the “Penny Project”.  The kids bring in their “pennies” to fund a project to benefit the work of a missionary family. The kids will learn all about this family and what their pennies will help build or provide.

vbs2

VBS not only helps our children discover and grow closer to Christ, they also make friends and have memories and values to last a lifetime.

VBS1

If you want to bring the kids tomorrow just show up at Calvary Church located at 1010 N Tustin Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705, between 4th St. & Irvine Blvd.

The program begins at 9:00 am and is over at 12:30 pm and runs through Friday. You can show up around 8:30 -8:45 within a few minutes they’ll be signed up, assigned to a crew and ready to go! You can feel self assured in leaving your kids as everyone that is serving on the volunteer team has been full background screened.

They are looking forward to see your kids there tomorrow!

Halloween Candy Buy Back

CandyBuyBack2015

The Halloween Candy Buy Back program is a great way for kids to give back! Kids can trade in their Halloween candy to local dentists for cash & prizes while supporting our troops.

How does the program work?

  • Participating dentists “buy” back kids’ Halloween candy at a scheduled event
  • “Buy” with cash, coupons, toothbrushes, creative exchanges – They can partner with local businesses to give away coupons for food, services, goods, etc.  They can give away the Hygiene Kits, they can set up an Opportunity Prize–each kid gets a ticket per pound of candy for an opportunity drawing to win special prizes, etc.
  • Dentists send the candy to Operation Gratitude or other Military support groups
  • Operation Gratitude sends the candy  to the U.S. Military
  • To find a dental practice in your area, use the zip code “look-up” feature to see if there is a dental office participating close by. SUGGESTION: Call the practice before driving over with your Halloween candy as many have concluded their buyback event and are no longer accepting candy.

  • You’ll enjoy peace of mind knowing you’re making kids, parents, and Service Members smile!
  • You’ll set a great example for the next generation to give back!
  • You’ll also enjoy some great publicity!

100,000 Toothbrush Challenge

In 2014, 401,052 lbs of candy were donated, that equals over 12 million individual pieces of candy!! To find a location near you click here.
