You’ll also discover some smart shortcuts—our Thanksgiving foods will streamline prep on the big day without sacrificing flavor. Our ultimate Thanksgiving menu features a host of classic and modern dishes, including gluten-free sides. These delicious recipes are sure to satisfy everyone at the table.

Whether it’s your first turkey or your twentieth, this class will teach you what you need to know to prepare a delicious, moist turkey on Thanksgiving day. From brining to using flavorful rubs, from knowing when your turkey is done to carving the turkey for a beautiful presentation, this class will be your guide. We’ll also cover how to deep fry your turkey–a classic Southern technique.

While the turkey is the star, Thanksgiving isn’t complete without a bountiful table of side dishes, everything from the classics to inventive new vegetable dishes. Did you know that different types of potatoes can make mashed potatoes either creamy or gummy? Learn the secrets to making delicious creamy mashed potatoes. Suitable for ages 9–13.

Learn how to make a lattice top or decorate the top of mom’s Thanksgiving pie with beautiful cutouts, sugar crystals and other finishing touches. Suitable for ages 5–13.

Whole Kids Cooking Class

Whole Foods features a Whole Kids Cooking Club twice a month, my kids always enjoy this class. This focus of this hands-on class is for kids create simple to make dishes using healthy, colorful fruits and vegetables while having fun.  This month’s classes features spooky fun Halloween treats.

I love going to whole foods, I take my girls to their Kids Club Cooking Classes, they have great adult classes and I’ve even taken my troop there for a field trip but it always seems like a museum to me. I can look at all the gorgeous foods, fruits and vegetables (yes, fruits and vegetables are gorgeous to me) but I can’t afford to take it home. Well, this blogger at made it work!

This month the hour long classes will involve techniques for Casseroles, Braising, Recipes using Pumpkin and Baking. Definitely a great way to bring in Fall.

Williams-Sonoma October Jr. Chef Classes

Get your kids ready for some tasty Fall treats at Williams-Sonoma Jr. Chef Classes.

Williams-Sonoma Jr. Chef classes are FREE and  held every Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m at Williams-Sonoma. These classes are great way to get yours kids in the kitchen cooking and creating.

Saturday, October 25, 2014: It’s almost time for trick or treating so let’s make some delicious Halloween treats! We will be decorating delicious Halloween cookies with spooky and fun designs. Suitable for ages 5-13 – kids are welcome to preview their costume!

Cooking from your Garden


Are you ready to indulge in a morning of culinary inspiration? This Saturday morning at Roger’s Garden, the founder and proprietor of  Zov’s Bistro’s and well-known local chef, Zov Karamardian, will demonstrate and teach how to prepare the perfect foods using vegetables from your garden.

She will share techniques, ingredients, and traditional family recipes for her stuffed eggplants with tomatoes, onions and garlic, Jasmine rice pilaf with condiments, and her cabbage salad with fresh mint, cilantro and bulgur.

I’ve taken the knife skills class, it’s great class and you can’t bet the price. If you have a favorite knife, be sure to take it with you to the Knife skills class and get in sharpened for free. I’m hoping to crave out some me time (pun intended) and take the Coffee and Espresso class.

This month’s class will feature recipes and tips from Vitamix expert and author of The Blender Girl, Tess Masters!

Cooler weather calls for warming drinks, and our favorites tend to start with coffee and espresso. Join us to gain a deeper understanding of the differences between coffee and espresso and how varying coffee roasts and grinds affect the finished drink. After this class you’ll be prepared to be a barista in your own home!


As summer draws to a close, it’s time to pull out our knives and get organized. Let’s hone your knife skills so you are ready for back-to-school packed lunches and autumn dinners. We’ll also offer complimentary knife-sharpening service in class (one knife per customer, please).
