International Day of Yoga

It’s the International Day of Yoga! Today we celebrate the practice of Yoga. Yoga is much more then physical practice. It encompasses your mind, body & soul. Each movement connecting breath to movement and for me, each movement and pose delivers a message so deep, not even we understand it. Yoga originated in India well over 5,000-years old. It is filled with tradition and history. It is a physical, mental and spiritual practice that transforms your body and mind.

Just a few years ago, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the “International Day of Yoga”. During an address to the UN General Assembly, Hon’ble Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi stated

Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition . It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature.

Who doesn’t want or need that in their life??? So hit your local Yoga Studio or find a “YouTube” video and get your Yoga on! I always say “Everyone needs Yoga” and I truly believe that.

If you’re in Orange County, join me at 7:00 am every Saturday Morning at Yoga Squared in Old Town Tustin. It would be my honor to guide you through a 75 minute “All Levels Flow” yoga session. You can also check my calendar for my schedule and any sub dates I may be filling in for.

Here’s a 75 minute playlist to listen today during your practice or just because. Enjoy this beautiful full day of Summer Solstice

Namaste,

Annette – Project Refined Life

Ok, I just noticed that the County of Orange and OC Parks Sunset Cinema film series is already under way! I seriously need to do some catching up around here!!!

The Sunset Cinema consists of 12 free movies taking place at Carbon Canyon Regional Park, Craig Regional Park, Salt Creek Beach, Mason Regional Park, Laguna Niguel Regional Park, and Yorba Regional Park.

Movies begin  around Sunset, so get your blanket and picnic dinner ready and enjoy a FREE movie night at the park.

The next Sunset Cinema will take place this Sunday, June 10th at Carbon Canyon Regional Park as we look out for U.F.O.’s and catch the sci-fi film Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Head over to Craig Regional Park in Fullerton on Saturday, June 17 as the series continues with The LEGO Batman Movie.

One of my personal favorites, The Princess Bride at Craig Regional Park on Saturday, June 24.

On Saturday, July 1 at Salt Creek Beach, don’t miss the animated comedy Sing.

The following week, you’ll be back  at Salt Creek Beach for Steven Spielberg’s Jaws on Saturday, July 8.

Bring the family to Mason Regional Park on Friday, July 14th  bring the kids for a screening of Moana  and Friday, July 21 for an all time favorite, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Come to Laguna Niguel Regional Park to see Finding Dory on Friday, July 28. Friday and then come back on August 4  for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

The last 2 movies of the OC Parks Sunset Cinema series will take place at Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim with A Bug’s Life on Friday, August 11. They’ll finish the series on August 18 with the 1993 American coming-of-age film, The Sandlot.

I’m planning on keeping our summer plans a bit more relaxed this year so that we’ll able to enjoy some family time and take in these FREE movie events. If you don’t have time to bring your picnic dinner, you can grab food from one of the food trucks that will be at every event. FREE parking starts as early as 6:00 pm and show times begin around 8:00 pm. For more information visit ocparks.com.
