Yoga, is amazing! I know, you may think I am a bit biased but I have benefited greatly from my Yoga practice, I feel calmer, stronger, healthier and more energetic. In addition to the physical benefits, the connection of mind, body and soul are indescribable.
If you’re not looking to go that deep, that’s ok. If you’re simply looking for a form of exercise, that’s easy on the body and helps you get healthier – Yoga is it!
There are so many health benefits and I simply have not found another form of exercise that can compare to the overall benefits of a regular Yoga practice.
Studies have shown that a regular Yoga practice helps to lower your blood sugar levels, lowers LDL levels (but cholesterol), boosts HDL levels (good cholesterol), helps with blood circulation, lessens pain and stress and increases energy levels.
You don’t have to stand on your head or fold up like a pretzel to do Yoga and it’s never to late to begin your Yoga practice. There is a yoga class to meet everyones fitness level and needs. Come out and try one of my classes or if you’re not in the area, look for a studio near you.
One of the ways I relax is by being in the garden at my daughter’s school – learning, teaching and growing fresh, organic vegetables. So I and am always delighted to see events such as this one. Tanaka Farms is hosting their first ever “Plant Fest”!
Head over to Tanaka Farms September 23 and 24 as they celebrate the plants and the arm they grow on. Spend the day on the farm farm and eat lots of yummy vegan food while you’re there!
There will be Vegan Food Trucks, Cooking Demonstrations, Music, Cruelty Free Shopping, plenty of Fresh Produce, activities for the kids and for an optional fee the always fun U-Pick Farm Tours!
The event is free and the entire family will love it. The best part is that a portion of all the sales goes to an animal rescue group!
When: Saturday, 23rd and Sunday September 24th, 2017 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Where; Tanaka Farms, 5380 3/4 University Drive, Irvine, CA

My family and I go to Roger’s Garden every year for their Halloween Boutique and I can tell you this place never disappoints! This year the Halloween Boutique’s theme is: Magic & Mayhem.
If you love Halloween as much as I do, you simply can’t miss this. Rogers Garden is a Garden Center like no other garden center I’ve ever been to.
The Halloween Boutique is made up of several rooms all decorated differently within an overall theme. It’s hard to focus on all the details in the room (at least for me) because there is so much to look at. You can browse around for hours and still find things you missed.
My family and I look forward to this as a way to welcome in the fall every year and get ready for Halloween.
Here’s the details for this years boutique:

Beginning Tuesday, September 5th, bring the kids to a fun welcoming environment learning the skills of mediation and yoga at Once Upon A Storybook in Tustin.
I believe every “body” NEEDS yoga and if we can introduce Yoga to our kids at an early age, they will will better off because of it! Yoga helps kids learn coping tools to deal with the emotional, social and the physical challenges our kids face today.
The class will begin with a yoga or mindfulness-related story and move onto Yoga. Your kids will not only learn the physical postures (poses) breathing techniques, balance and meditation but more importantly self acceptance, mind and body connection as well as social and community awareness.
Kids will need their own yoga mats, if you don’t have one, we have arranged for you to purchase one at a discounted rate at Branch & Stone in Old Town Tustin. Kids Yoga mats are $15.00 plus tax.
When: Classes will begin Tuesday September 5th from 4:00 – 5:00pm.
