Happy Easter And What Is To Come

Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope, renewal, and new life.” – Janine di Giovanni

ProjectRefinedLife.com

I know it’s been a while, I felt called to reach out and a say that I hope all of you had a lovely Easter. I do believe that Easter is the perfect time for hope, renewal and change. However it is that you celebrate this day or whatever it means to you, take some time tonight to reflect on what has been and look forward at all that this season represents.

The last 30 days have been an adjustment for my family and I. Today, being away from my family was hard. I miss my family, friends and my community however I know that we are where we are meant to be! So with that in mind, I welcome this season and the change that it brings. Let today be the first day of your new life, keep moving forward and smile as you welcome what is to come.

International Women’s Day 2018

Phenomenal Woman

By: Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.

I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size

But when I start to tell them,

They think I’m telling lies.

I say,

It’s in the reach of my arms,

The span of my hips,

The stride of my step,

The curl of my lips.

I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

I walk into a room

Just as cool as you please,

And to a man,

The fellows stand or

Fall down on their knees.

Then they swarm around me,

A hive of honey bees.

I say,

It’s the fire in my eyes,

And the flash of my teeth,

The swing in my waist,

And the joy in my feet.

I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered

What they see in me.

They try so much

But they can’t touch

My inner mystery.

When I try to show them,

They say they still can’t see.

I say,

It’s in the arch of my back,

The sun of my smile,

The ride of my breasts,

The grace of my style.

I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

Now you understand

Just why my head’s not bowed.

I don’t shout or jump about

Or have to talk real loud.

When you see me passing,

It ought to make you proud.

I say,

It’s in the click of my heels,

The bend of my hair,

the palm of my hand,

The need for my care.

’Cause I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

These small hours still remain

Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders
These twists and turns of fate
Time falls away
But these small hours
These small hours still remain

Every change in your life comes from something that is uncomfortable but that is where and when the growth takes place.

This past year has been huge for me. So many changes have taken place. Today, I realize that it was just another beginning of something much bigger. At times I feel like a cat…so many lives in this lifetime, I’m blessed to have this opportunity for change and growth.

Join me at my beloved Yoga Squared in Old Town Tustin as these small hours still remain.

My final class here will be filled with soulful, courageous and humble poses set to a very special playlist.

  •  Saturday, February 24th at 7:00am for my final Soulful Vinyasa Class

FYI – I’ll try not to be emotional but there are no guarantees! The owner, fellow teachers and community at this studio are beyond special. Truly, it’s been an absolute honor.
