Feel it!

Day 12 of “Mindful March”
from https://www.actionforhappiness.org/

Today was such a beautiful day. It was filled with moments of clouds blanketing the skies, soft rain and moments of down pours. After all of this weather today, Just before sunset, I was able to stand still for a moment and indulge in the coolness of the sky right before sunset.

Whenever you can, just take a moment in your day, just feel it. Feel the cool of a breeze or the warmth of the sun on your face.

Before you Reply

Day 11 of “Mindful March”
from https://www.actionforhappiness.org/

When someone is speaking, take a full breath before you reply.

Have you ever had a conversation with someone where you can clearly see that that have already formed their reply before you’re done with your sentence?

Be mindful. Let them speak, take a full breath prior to forming your reply. It makes a huge difference in the overall conversation and the vibration that conversation carries.

Listen to a Piece of Music

Day 9 of “Mindful March”

from https://www.actionforhappiness.org/

Without doing anything else, sit back, close your eyes and “Listen to a piece of music“.

I’ve attached a song by James Hood entitled Tapestry. This song has so many rhythmic textures and layers, sit back and enjoy these next 4 minutes.

That’s it, today’s assignment is just to listen.

“James Hood is renowned as a vital and versatile musical pioneer. His lengthy and varied musical resume includes playing drums in The Pretenders, an ongoing two-decades-plus run as mastermind of the visionary ambient/electronica act Moodswings and an expansive array of production and soundtrack projects.” – https://www.jameshood.com/

Mindful March

I know this comes a few days late but I’ve been taking part in this “Mindful March” practice and I thought I’d share it you.

This calendar comes to you from the lovely people at https://www.actionforhappiness.org

Each month they have a calendar filled with heart felt ideas on how to lead a happier and healthier life.

Each of these mindful actions only take a few minutes each day. Please pass it along to your friends and family. I might even start sending out a daily reminder of these Moments of Mindfulness.

Wishing you all a lovely March.

Peace, Love and Yoga,

Annette

Patchouli Essential Oil

One of my “go to” essential oils before I teach yoga is Patchouli. I often diffuse Patchouli essential oil alone or I combine it with Lavender essential oil. I also use it on Charcoal disc as I meditate. The earthy and relaxing aromas create a grounding effect.

I have read that King Tut was buried with 10 gallons of patchouli with him in his tomb. Although that be bit much for us, you can apply it to dry areas to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes. You can also dilute your dōTERRA Patchouli and use it as a natural deodorant. The strong and unique scent makes a great base in floral blends.”

If you would like more information on Patchouli or any other oil, feel free to contact me at: projectrefinedlife@gmail.com
