Snakes play an important role in the South Coast Wilderness. In the spring, snakes emerge from their winter dens, warm themselves in the sun, and begin to wander the hills in search of prey. They will be active until the weather cools again in the late fall.
Steve Bledsoe of The North American Field Herping Association will bring live snakes to the park and provide a presentation about our Orange County snakes. Bring your curiosity and your questions. Learn to tell the venomous from non-venomous snakes. This program is Recommended for ages 8 and above.
