My name is Annette. I am a Wife, a Mother of 4, a proud Grandma, a supporter of MADD, a Girl Scout Troop Leader, a doTERRA Wellness Advocate and a Yoga Teacher in Training. I love spending time with my family, practing yoga, cooking, hiking, camping, exploring and keeping myself and my family healthy. I am on an ongoing project of refining who I am. My life has been filled with love, joy and hurt. Bringing me to a point where I realized I needed to learn how to breathe again, grow from the hurt, change and expand my thinking.
In July of 2005, my life was changed forever. A drunk driver took the life of my 17 year old son and his best friend. My life, my purpose and outlook on life changed forever.
Since then, my husband and I had two beautiful girls but even with such lovely blessings, It took me several years to come out of my shell. For years I kept looking at a picture taken just two weeks before this horrible event and kept saying “I want to be her again”. It took me years to come to the understanding that I would never be “her” again. Although the pain of losing my son would never be over, I had to learn to live with the the pain and make become a better person because of it and help others. I needed to learn how to continue in my new life.
The purpose of my blog is to share things that refine my life. my purpose and my place..I am the Project!
- I feel that refining my life should consist of spreading the word about social and community issues, so I will share my point of view and ways to help make the world a better place.
- I feel that giving back is one of my purposes in life, so I will share ways to give back.
- I know that my place is with my family, so I will share family friendly events with an emphasis on STEAM & nature, deals, freebies, recipes, product reviews.
- I am a work in progress and will share some of the things I am doing to get healthy (physically and mentally).
I am always looking to learn, grow and share; so I will share what I find to be helpful, informative or fun. I hope you enjoy my blog and appreciate you coming along with me on my project,
